It is recommended to see your GP to talk about the possibility of getting a Mental Health Care Plan prior to seeing a psychologist. You don't need a referral from a GP to see a psychologist, but it can be much more affordable to get a Mental Health Care Plan.

With a Mental Health Care Plan you will be eligible for 10 Medicare funded sessions per calendar year and will receive a $126.50 Medicare Rebate per session.

With the Medicare rebate of $126.50, you will be out of pocket $53.50 per session.

Private Health Insurance rebates may be available if you are not to using a Mental Health Care Plan or have finished your plan.

Home visit fees are by negotiation. There are Medicare rebates available for home visits if it is considered in best therapeutic interest for the person involved.

EFTPOS and Hicaps are available and can be immediately processed at the end of the session.
